Every year, in October, Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month (MUAM) is held and intended to create awareness of diagnostic medical sonographers’ roles in the medical community.  In addition, it is also designed to educate the public about medical ultrasound, it’s many uses in healthcare and how it is increasingly being recognized as a vital medical tool.  Six ultrasound organizations, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS), American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Society of Diagnostic MedicalSonographer (SDMS) and Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) joins their efforts and sponsor MUAM. October is the month that we recognize and celebrate the important contributions sonographers provide to medicine and the medical community.  MUAM is your month to shine!  Please help in celebrating and recognizing our sonographers in October!
