Hands-On Vascular Ultrasound Training

Looking for a hands-on vascular ultrasound course? NAVIX’s hands-on vascular ultrasound training will provide technologists and medical professionals with proper duplex testing techniques for early detection of many vascular conditions, including:

  • Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
  • Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA)
  • Carotid artery disease

Accuracy in diagnosing vascular disease depends on accurate testing. Unlike many other ultrasound modalities, quality is more dependent on the skills of the technologist performing the exam. For this reason, hands-on vascular training led by vascular ultrasound experts is critical to advancing skills and performance of accurate diagnostic testing of vascular conditions.

NAVIX’s Hands-on Vascular Ultrasound Training is designed to advance the knowledge and skills in the use of noninvasive technology to produce comprehensive exams that go beyond screening, providing physicians with the clinical information they require for treatment  The training can be customized to improve skills in all or specific areas of vascular testing including cerebrovascular, extremity arterial, extremity venous and visceral vascular.

Target Audience

The target audience for this program is sonographers, cardiac sonographers, general technologists and vascular technologists seeking to acquire and expand vascular ultrasound imaging techniques. Physicians who also perform ultrasound examinations and seeking to improve their skills are also invited to participate.

Program Details

This program will help improve the quality of vascular imaging and support the needs of physicians in specific types of clinical settings including hospitals, private practice, access centers, outpatient and surgical centers, and wound care centers. While details of the program may vary based on the client’s needs, typically our training is a combination of lectures, clinical cases, and hands-on scanning of patients.

Participants can expect a review of relevant vascular anatomy, physiology, mechanisms of disease, signs, and symptoms. The hands-on portion of the training will include the appropriate use of the ultrasound technology for image optimization. Participants will learn proper techniques for producing a quality image.

NAVIX instructors will also share practical tips and tricks on imaging, patient positioning and other maneuvers used to optimize results. Additionally, our vascular imaging experts cover currently accepted testing protocols and criteria to provide up-to-date information important to providing high-quality vascular diagnostic services. Participants will also be engaged in case review sessions to ensure they are exposed to a range of common and uncommon vascular pathology.

NAVIX provided vascular ultrasound training at the West Orange Nephrology office in Winter Garden, FL. I had the honor of meeting Tish Poe during the training. I was impressed with the training and Tish's attention to detail and knowledge.  Clearly, vascular ultrasound is her area of expertise. Tish's insight on Fistulas is on point.  I most enjoyed her hands-on approach and very precise methods of using technology to produce high-quality vascular images. It would be my pleasure to have NAVIX back in the future for more training.

Jessica M Vega, BS, RVS

West Orange Nephrology

I would like to thank the NAVIX team and Tish Poe for doing such an amazing job with the Venous Insufficiency education we received. Tish did a wonderful job conducting the seminar and delivering the education material in a way that made sense to our lab. I especially enjoyed the hands on experience we received. Thank you.

Adrienne James RDCS, RVT, RDMS

Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist, Kettering Medical Center

On behalf of our team, I would like to thank the Navix Team for the excellent vascular ultrasound training. Gillian did a great job coordinating the logistics of our training and our instructor, Tish, was outstanding. We learned a lot and feel far better equipped to move forward with our project. We appreciate your working with our knowledge base and helping us learn so many of the finer points of the procedure.

Government Scientist

We partnered with Navix for Vascular Ultrasound coverage and training.  Navix worked side by side with our technologist to be sure they were proficient in all vascular exams.  Our technologists are now Registered Vascular technologists thanks to the mentoring from Navix. We continue to work with Navix as they provide support via a virtual technical director who is available for questions, offers support, critiques our exams and supplies continuing education.  With Navix’s help, we have been able to offer a service that has never been offered in our community and invest in our employees.
